The National Organic Registry of Australia (N.O.R.A.) is a joint initiative between EAN Australia and ORGANIC (Ltd)

N.O.R.A. is powered by EANnet and managed by ORGANIC (Ltd).

N.O.R.A. is an online electronic product catalogue that identifies the subset of products within EANnet that are organic and provides additional information for such products.


ORGANIC (Ltd)

ORGANIC (Ltd) is a non-profit organisation, promoting organic and sustainable agriculture in Australia and New Zealand, activities include the provision and management of resources, information, education, marketing, seminars, news, events and guides. ORGANIC (Ltd) works collectively with other organisations to pursue key strategic initiatives for the overall benefit of people, plants, animals and the environment.


EANnet

EANnet is a multi industry, data synchronisation and catalogue service which allows trading partners across all industries to synchronise their information systems and achieve the level of data integrity that is essential for successful, efficient and accurate electronic commerce transactions.

EANnet enables suppliers, manufacturers or distributors to maintain a single, standardised record of data, including product identifiers, descriptions, dimensions, pricing, trading terms and logistical information for products and services. Trading partners can also be sent on a continuing basis, updates of all supplier modifications made to their catalogue.

The data alignment provided by EANnet is a key foundation for enabling of paperless transactions. It will also dramatically improve the effectiveness of e-commerce and supply chain initiatives including electronic marketplaces, collaborative planning and forecasting and continuous replenishment processes.

In addition to relationship dependent data such as customer specific pricing, promotional information and trading terms, EANnet stores images and attachments that assist in a range of business procedures such as shelf space management, online shopping catalogues, warehousing and distribution. It also allows controlled product releases to specific trading partners prior to their public release.

Trading partners can obtain, distribute, maintain or exchange error free information about any product, service or organisation location stored on EANnet. Information is provided electronically in a standardised format.


EAN Australia

EAN Australia is a non-profit organisation that locally administers the global multi-industry system of identification and communication for products, services, assets and locations - the EAN-UCC system.

Created to help Australian business enterprises to become more efficient, our fundamental role is to allocate EAN-UCC numbers and bar codes, maintaining internationally accepted trading standards. This in turn, allows Australian organisations to adopt worlds' best practice supply chain management techniques.

EAN-UCC numbers and bar codes permit organisations of any size to order, track, trace, deliver and pay for goods across the supply chain, anywhere in the world.

EAN Australia provides the following services:

  • Member support, education and assistance services through EANassist
  • Assists members in identifying and implementing e-commerce and supply chain management solutions via EANnet
  • Maintains a continuously updated electronic catalogue of members' products via EANnet
  • Helps larger businesses gain accreditation to issue their own bar codes through EANacert
