Satisfied faces at the end of the second BioFach América Latina, which attracted 1,800 participants from 18 countries this year. The over 110 exhibitors were pleased about more sales and the high standard of the trade visitors. The interest from Brazil and Argentina was especially strong, but the number of international buyers from Asia, Europe and the USA also increased. The supporting programme focused on the development of markets, certification matters and network projects. The main presentations were all very well attended by some 400 visitors. The business meetings of the Brazilian main sponsor SEBRAE were booked up. New joint ventures were also arranged. For example, a group from Peru, Bolivia and Brazil is planning a chain of market halls with regional products in Brazil. Zona Sul, a supermarket chain from Rio, is integrating the organic bakery of the Italian supplier Molino d'Oro into its outlets. The next BioFach América Latina will take place again in Rio from 16-18 November 2005.
