The federal government will put funds toward development of a national sector organization, the Organic Federation of Canada, to bring together all players in Canada's organic industry, raise awareness of the sector and help with regulatory development.

New regulations to protect Canadian consumers and support growth of organic products industry

By 2005, Agriculture Canada estimates the organic market will be worth more than $3 billion in Canada alone, and will compose more than 10 per cent of the overall food market by 2010.
